The investigation report on the marriage between a rape victim and her rapist in Pabna has reached the police high ups, confirmed Pabna police Superintendent Sheikh Rafiqul Islam.
The allegation about the said marriage has been found to be true and the OC Obaidul Huq, and Sub Inspector, Ekramul Huq, have been summoned.
The investigation committee was formed on Monday (Sept 9) with ASP, Md Feroj as the head.
A mother of three was raped by Rasel Ahmed and a cohort on Aug 29; two days later, on Aug 31 she was taken and locked in an office where, four to five men violated her. When the woman came back and told her relatives, she was admitted to the Pabna General Hospital on Sept 5 and the victim lodged a complaint at the station.
The police then arrested Rasel and had him married to the woman though the latter has a husband and then, tried to suppress the event.
