The incident was reported from near the Redwan Ahmed College in Chandina Upazila town on Thursday.
A former BNP leader who served as a minister under the Khaleda Zia-administration, Oli travelled to Chandina to attend an event of the college.
“As soon as Oli Ahmed’s motorcade passed the Chandina police station and was approaching to the college premises, activists of the Awami League and its student wing attacked leaving the car carrying Oli Ahmed with shattered windows. Oli Ahmed, however, is unharmed,” Principal Manirul Islam Bhuiyan told Bangla Tribune.
Glass is seen broken of Oli Ahmed`s car.No Chandina unit Awami League leaders were available for comment despite several attempts.
Police said any complaint is yet to be filed over the attack. “
But we have heard stones were hurled at Oli Ahmed’s car, which left its glass broken. We will investigate if a complaint is filed,” said OC Mohammad Samsul Islam.
