Eight people have been killed and two injured after a bus broke through the railing of a bridge and fell into a ditch at Faridpur.
The incident was reported from the Sadar Upazila’s Dhuldi area on Saturday (Aug 24) afternoon, confirmed Faridpur Highway Police’s Karimpur outpost Sub Inspector Jainul Islam.
Five of the deceased are male and three female but they are yet to be identified. Amongst them six were killed on spot while the rest died on the way to the hospital.
Islam said that the Gopalganj-bound Comfort Paribahan bus broke through the bridge and fell into a ditch and that the injured have been taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
