MaguraPolice have recovered the hanging bodies of a newly married couple in Magura Sadar upazila.

The deceased have been identified as Nirab Biswas, 20, son of Rabindranath Biswas of Raghobdair village in Sadar upazila, and his wife Sraboni Biswas, daughter of Biswajit Biswas of Dhaneswargati village in Shalikha upazila.

The bodies were recovered from Nirob’s house in the village on Tuesday (Aug 20) evening, said Magura Sadar police station Inspector Saiful Islam, also the investigation officer of the case.

According to the police, the couple had an affair following which they got married around twenty-five days ago.

Although the groom’s family had accepted the marriage, the couple was aggrieved over the fact that Sraboni’s family had not been happy with her decision.

The couple locked themselves up inside their room at Nirab’s house where Sraboni had been living since they got married in the evening and hanged themselves inside.

Local people broke into the room around 6 pm and found them dead.

On being informed, the police recovered the bodies and sent them to a local hospital for post-mortem examinations.

An unusual death case has been filed with Sadar police station in this connection.
