Schoolboy’s body recovered in Chandpur

Representational imageThe body of schoolboy who went missing while bathing in Dakatia river in Chandpur’s Puranbazar area has been recovered.

The deceased is 15-year-old Raj Saha, a ninth-grade student of Madhusudan High School and son of Sribash Saha who is a businessman and resident of Puranbazar area.

Divers of the local Fire Service and Civil Defence unit recovered Raj’s body from the Topadar Auto Rice Mill terminal of the river, three hours after he was swept away by strong currents from the terminal on Sunday (Aug 18).

Fire official of Chandpur Naval Fire Service Dipak Sarker said, “After being informed about the matter around 2pm on Sunday, we reached the spot with a rescue ship and pulled the body from the river around 4pm.”

The body had been handed over to the family members, Dipak added.
