Terrorists have gunned down an army member in hill tracts district of Rangamati’s Rajasthali Upazila, ISPR says.
The deceased has been identified as Nasim, 19, a sepoy, an ISPR statement said on Sunday (Aug 18).
Terrorists opened fire on an army patrol team at Poaitukhum, some 4 kilometres off Rajasthali Army Camp of Rangamati Region, around 10am on Sunday, leaving Nasim injured, it reads.
He was airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Chattogram where he died while undergoing treatment, the statement says.
The patrol has been strengthened in the area and the security measures remained under the army’s control, it adds.
