Four killed in Narsingdi road crash

Four people, including three university students, have been killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a car on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway.
The incident was reported around 2am on Saturday (Aug 16) from Karar Char area in Narsingdi’s at Shibpur Upazila, said fire service official.
The deceased have been identified as Sadia Akter, 26, Jannat, 25, and Akib, 27, MBA students of The Millennium University in Dhaka; and Imran Hossain, 35, husband of Sadia.
“A Sylhet-bound Shyamoli Paribahan bus collided with the car on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Karar Char area, left three of the car passengers dead on spot,” said Narsingdi Fire Service and Civil Defence Deputy Assistant Director Shafiqul Islam.
“Five others, passengers of both the vehicles, got injured in the incident and were taken to Narsingdi District Hospital,” said Islam.
“Of the injured, Sadia succumbed to her injuries at the hospital,” said the fire service official before adding, “The four injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”
