Faridpur bus accident kills three

Three people have died while 30 others have been injured in a bus accident in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur.

The deceased are bus driver Rowshan Ali, 38, Mira Rani Kunda, 65, resident of Rajbari Sadar upazila, and another unidentified man who is thought to be 68 years old.   

Bhanga highway police station Sub-inspector Ashraf Uddin Ahmed said that the accident occurred near the Noapara bridge no 2 on the Faridpur-Barishal highway around 10 am on Thursday (Aug 15).

A Tekerhat-bound bus collided head on with a Rangpur-bound bus, killing bus driver Rowshan Ali and passenger Mira Rani on the spot, said the sub-inspector.

The injured were rescued and sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH), Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and a hospital in Dhaka, he added.

An unidentified man later died at FMCH.
