‘Drug dealer’ killed in Narail ‘shootout’

Police recovered a pipe gun, two bullets and 53 contraband Yaba pills from the spot.A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Chandmari in the district early Saturday.
The victim was identified as Golam Mostafa alias Mosto, 48.
Acting on information, police conducted a drive in the area around 3am.
Sensing presence of the police, the drug traders opened fire on the law enforcers, forcing them to fire back in self-defence, triggering the gunfight, said the OC of Narail Police Station Anwar Hossain.
After the gunfight, police recovered the bullet-hit body of Mostafa and took him to the Narail government hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.
Besides, five policemen were injured in the gunfight.
Later, police recovered a pipe gun, two bullets and 53 contraband Yaba pills from the spot.
