Unidentified assailants have hacked to death a local Awami League leader in Bandarban’s Lama Upazila.
The incident was reported around 11.30pm on Wednesday (Jul 24) from the western area of Kayajupara Bazar in the upazila's Sarai Union, said police.
The victim has been identified as Md Alamgir, served as AL joint secretary of Sarai union in the upazila.
Citing the locals, police said some unidentified assailants hacked Alamgir with sharp weapon leaving him dead on the spot.
"Being informed, a police team has been sent to the spot," said Lama police acting OC Oppela Raju Naha.
