Locals in Netrokona have lynched a young man for carrying the decapitated head of a seven year old child in a bag.

The incident happened on Thursday (Jul 18) at the city’s New Town area, said police.

Earlier, the young man was seen moving about in the Harijan community. Later, he was caught and beaten to death. 

Netrokona acting police OC Md Tajul Islam, said: “The head belongs to a child called Sajib, son of Raid Uddin; the matter is being investigated.”

Assistant Superintendent of Police of Netrokona SM Ashraful Islam, said: “After the identity of the young man is ascertained, necessary steps will be taken.”
