The body of Jatiya Party chief and former president Hussain Muhammad Ershad has reached in Rangpur.
A military helicopter carrying Ershad’s body landed at Rangpur Cantonment around 11.50am on Tuesday (Jul 16), said the party’s Rangpur unit.
The funeral prayer will be performed at the field of Rangpur Collectorate School and College after zuhr prayers.
The coffin of Ershad was flown over from Dhaka’s Tejgaon airport around 10:30am.
Ershad’s younger brother GM Quader, son Rahgir Al Mahi Shad Ershad, among many others, also went to Rangpur.
HM Ershad passed away on Sunday (Jul 14) at the CMH while undergoing treatment.
