Five killed in road crashes in three districts

The truck lost control and hit a tree on Khulna-Mawna highway in Bagerhat on July 15, 2019.Five people have been killed and another has been injured in road crashes in three districts.
In Gazipur, three people were killed in a road accident.
The incident occurred around 8am on Monday (Jul 15) on the Gazipur-Mymensingh highway, said police.
The identities of the deceased have yet to be identified.
“A pick-up had hit a covered van from behind, killing the driver and his associates on the spot,” said Gazipur Metropolitan Sadar police OC Shamir Chandra Shutradhar.
The dead bodies were sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
In Tangail, one man has been killed in a road accident.
The incident occurred on Sunday (Jul 14) on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, police said.
The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Alauddin Al Azad.
“A truck had crushed Alauddin while he was passing a road at Ashekpur bypass,” said Elenga police outpost In-Charge Basudeb Sinha.
“He was sent to Tangail General Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead,” said Sinha.
In Bagerhat, one man has been killed and another injured in a road accident.
The incident occurred in the early hours on Monday (Jul 15) at Khulna-Mawna highway.
The deceased has been identified as Kamal Hossain.
“A truck carrying power equipment had lost control and hit a tree. The truck driver died on the spot,” said Katakhali highway police OC Md Robiul Islam.
The injured truck helper has been sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
The body has been sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
