A Fire has gutted 12 shops at a market in Tangail’s Gopalpur Upazila.
The incident was reported around 8am on Saturday (Jun 15) from the upazila’s Old Municipal Market, said local fire service office.
Locals said that the fire erupted at a cloth store and soon engulfed its nearby shops.
“It took 5 fire fighting units almost two hours to tame the flames around 10am,” said Tangail Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Abdur Razzak.
“The fire originated from an electric shot circuit at a cloth store which left 12 shops into ashes,” added the fire service official.
