At least 10 people have been injured in a clash between local Rohingya groups in Teknaf on Monday.

The incident was reported from Rohingya camp in Leda at 10.30pm, said OC Ranjit Kumar of Teknaf Model Thana.

Two of the injured were in critical state who have been identified as Hhilar Mufiz Alam and Helal Uddin, said police.

OC Kumar said, “After being informed over a clash in Rohingya camp, a police team was sent to the spot. We are taking legal actions for further investigation.”

"The injured have been recovered and sent to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital,” he added.

Sources said two groups led by local UP member and listed yaba dealer Nurul Huda and another influential person, Mufiz, have a conflict to reign in control over the camp.

On Monday night, both the groups engaged in the clash over a gambling dispute.

Tension is prevailing in the Rohingya camps, they added.

Nurul Huda found unreachable when contacted over phone.
