Road crash kills three in Brahmanbaria

At least three people have been killed and three others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Brahmanbaria.
The incident was reported from Satborg area of the district’s Bijoynagar Upazila, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Shanta Roy Chowdhury, 30, Abu Taher, 50, and Milal Uddin, 52. While the injured are Faisal Mia, 28, Jumman, 27, and Farzina, 22.
They all hailed Adaoir Haluapara area of Habiganj’s Madhobpur Upazila.
Police, quoting witnesses, said the accident took place when a Sylhet-bound truck collided with an auto-rickshaw in the area around 12:45pm leaving one dead on the spot and five other injured.
The injured were rushed to the state-owned hospital at the district town where doctors decaled two of them dead.
All three injured have been shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with two of them in critical condition, said Md Saidur Rahman, a physician of the Brahmanbaria hospital.
Anger of the death, locals blockaded the road for a half hours before forces from the nearby Bijoynagar police brought the situation under control.
Brahmanbaria Khatihat highway police OC Saraka said the bodies have been kept at the state-owned hospital at district town.
Police seized the killer truck, he added.
