He served as a former commissioner at ward No. 5 of Bandarban municipality and was the incumbent vice president of the AL municipal unit.
Locals said that a group of terrorists, on May 22, kidnapped Cothowaimong Marma at gunpoint from Churuipara area of the upazila’s Balaghata area.
"Locals informed police after spotting the body on Saturday,” said Bandarban Sadar police OC Shahidul Islam.
Police were at the scene, he added.
Recently, a series of killing and kidnapping incidents has hit the hill tracts district of Bandarban as at least three murders and another abduction were reported there within this month.
