India’s Border Security Forces (BSF) has taken back the 10 Rohingyas they tried to force into Bangladesh through the border at Brahmanbaria after 11 long hours.
They took back the Rohingyas stranded at the no-man’s-land at Brahmanbaria’s Kasba border after a flag meeting with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday (May 23).
Earlier in the day, the BSF has attempted to force the 10 Rohingyas, including two women and six children, into Bangladesh through the border at the district’s Kasba Upazila.
The BGB members stopped them after which they remained stranded at the no-man’s-land.
Brahmanbaria-based BGB’ Battalion 60 chief Lt Col Iqbal Hossain said that BGB Kasba Company Commander Shamsul Hoque led the talks on behalf of Bangladesh while BSF Raimora Company Commander Krishan Kumar led the talks on behalf of India.
He added that the BGB has been on high alert ever since the situation unfolded.
