The detainees are 35-year-old Hawa, 35-year-old Jarina Khatun and 30-year-old Setara.
The women were detained from a bus at the BOP check-post in Hoyaikong on Tuesday (May 21), said Teknaf-2 BGB chief Mohammad Faisal.
“The vehicles at the BOP check-posts were searched on Monday (May 20) night after we received a tip-off that some women smuggling yaba in their stomach,” he said.
He added that some passengers of the Cox’s Bazar bound Palki Paribahan were taken to Teknaf Health Complex where an X-ray revealed the methamphetamine drugs in their stomach.
The BGB chief said that three fake identity cards were seized from the women who used to live in the refugee camp in Teknaf’s Alikhali area.
