Nuruzzaman Forhad MunshiBarishal Awami League joint general secretary, Nuruzzaman Forhad Munshi, is accused of forcefully taking a cheque of Tk 3.6 million from the upazila warehouse official, using a gun.
Food warehouse official, Subhash Chandrapal, has made a written complaint to the Gournadi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Khaleda Nasrin on Monday (May 20) over the incident.
In the complaint Subhash says: “Nuruzzaman Forhad Munshi disregards all rules and has been supplying rotten rice and torn sacks to the Gournadi food warehouse.”
It further adds: “When I was busy collecting rice on May 18, Forhad Hossain proposed to give rice but I told him of the PM’s order to keep the warehouse empty. At this point, he threatened me at gunpoint and told me that if I wanted to work in the upazila I would have to listen to his orders.”
Instead of giving rice, he forcefully took an advance cheque of Tk 3.6 million from me, added the warehouse officer.
UNO Khaleda Nasrin said that legal action would be taken after investigation.
Meanwhile, Forhad, says: “I went to the warehouse since there was a pending bill; I did not show any weapon or issue any threat.”
