The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested an engineer of Roads and Highways Department with money allegedly taken as bribe in Barguna.
A team of the anti-graft watchdog launched a drive at the office of Shamsul Shahriar Bhuiyan, sub-divisional engineer of RHD in Barguna on Monday.
The ACC said that the raid was conducted on information that he took Tk 1.5 million from various contractors.
The ACC team along with recovered Tk 1.45 million in cash from his office and residence, it said.
A case has been filed against Shamsul with Barguna police.
