Two killed in Narayanganj gas cylinder blast

Burnt down home in NarayanganjTwo people were killed and seven others injured in a gas cylinder explosion at Bhulta in Rupganj Upazilla of Narayanganj on Monday (Apr 22) early morning.

Four of the injured seven were being treated at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Two of the admitted patients’ condition remained critical. The other injured were admitted to a local hospital.

The deceased were identified as 27-year-old Rakib and 28-year-old Shamim, 28.

The injured were sleeping at the time of explosion. Locals came to rescue.    

Abdul Mannan, in-charge of Kanchan Fire Service Station, said they suspected that the explosion took place from accumulated gas when someone attempted to light a stove on the ground floor flat of a three-storey building in Bhulta.

On information, two fire fighting units rushed to the spot to recover the injured people.
