Law Minister Anisul Huq laying the foundation stone for a public health and engineering office at Brahmanbaria on Friday (Apr 19).The government had no hand in imprisoned BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s jail term, said Law Minister Anisul Huq.
His remarks came on Friday (Apr 19) while speaking to the media after placing the foundation stone for a public health and engineering office at Brahmanbaria.
“Khaleda Zia was sentenced by a trial court for embezzling money for orphans. She appealed against the verdict after which her sentence was increased to 10 years,” he said.
“I see no government intervention in this,” he added.
He criticised the BNP regime saying that there was no law and order back then and the only reason corrupted are being punished now is because of the existing law and order.
