“There was no carelessness in terms of security,” he told the media on Tuesday (Mar 19) at Chattogram Circuit House.
“The perpetrators carried out the premeditated attack as soon as they saw an opportunity,” he added.
Huda said that those involved with the attacks will be marked and brought to justice.
“The polls were fair. Complaints don’t make elections faulty,” he said.
The second phase of the Upazila polls took place on Tuesday (Mar 18) in 116 Upazila councils across the country.
Seven people including two election officials were killed after the vehicle carrying them came under attack on Monday.
Unidentified men armed with semi-automatic firearms ambushed the vehicle when they were taking election materials to the Upazila Sadar from a polling station in Sajek Union.
