Habiganj local BNP leader held for war crimes

HabiganjPolice in Habiganj has arrested a local BNP leader on charges of 1971 war crimes.
Madhu Mia Talukdar was arrested late on Tuesday from the district town’s Court Mosque area, said Habiganj Police OC Shah Alam.
The joint secretary general of the BNP’s Baniachang unit, Talukder has been elected as the chairman of the Muradpur Union council.
“He has been prosecuted for the murders of Pramod Roy, Ardhan Sarkar, Laxman Sarkar and Adam Ali in Baniachang during the 1971 war. A warrant was out for him from the International Crimes Tribunal,” said OC Alam.
