11 Myanmar nationals held with large yaba consignment

Coast guard has detained 11 Myanmar nationals along with 1000,000 pieces of Yaba consignment in Cox’s Bazar’s Tekhnaf Upazila.
The detention was made from a fishing boat in the deep sea near Saint Martin’s Island early on Wednesday (Feb 21), said Teknaf Coast Guard station commander Lt Faizul Islam Mandal.
The detainees -- Kabir, 35; Nabi, 20; Amanullah, 18; Tarek, 14; Kamal, 20; Saber, 18; Reaz, 14; Shaker, 16; Foysal, 16; Rahmat, 19; and Reaz, 18, -- hail from Mognipara area of Myanmar’ Mongdu township.
Tipped off, a coast guard team conducted a raid on the south-east side of Saint Martin’s Island, chased a fishing boat and seized it, Islam said adding, “They detained 11 Myanmar nationals on board and recovered the yaba tablets after searching the boat.” A case was filed with Teknaf police after quizzing the detainees.
