As many as seven people have sustained burn injuries from an explosion at a gas cylinder shop in the hill tracts district of Khagrachhari.
The incident was reported from Khobongpuria village of the district’s Sadar Upazila at around 4am on Tuesday (Feb 19), said local police OC Shahadat Hossain.
The injured have been identified as Bhuban Bikash Chakma, Abdul Hamid, Md Jamir, Mahmud Ullah, Newton Chakma, Mohiranjan Chakma and Minoti Chakma.
Of the injured, four have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
According to police, the explosion might have taken place while refuelling the gas cylinder.
Police opened an investigation into the incident, said OC Shahadat.
