Ferry services on Shimulia-Kathalbari route were halted for five hours due to foggy weather on Monday (Feb 18).
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) kept the ferry services halted since 4am to 9am on Monday morning as the fog was too dense for the ferry and beacon lights to penetrate.
“Due to the heavy fog seven ferries were kept anchored mid-river with passenger vehicles on-board,” said BIWTC Kathalbari ghat Manager Salam Hossain.
“The ferry services resumed after 9am once the fog cleared,” he added.
