Three people, including a woman, have died in Mushiganj’s Gazaria when a car rammed a covered van from behind.

The incident was reported around 12:45pm on Monday (Feb 11), said Bhaberchar Highway police Inspector (Traffic) Jahir Islam.

The victims have been identified as Siddikur Rahman, 70, a former principal officer of Grameen Bank, his wife Jasmine Sultana, 55 and the chauffeur of the car Abdullah Sarkar, 35.  

“The sedan driver lost control and hit the covered van from behind leaving three people dead and one injured,” Islam said.

The covered van, involved in the accident and the bodies of the victims have been kept at the Bhaberchar police post.
