Brahmanbaria road crash leaves 2 dead, 8 injured

Representational imageA head-on collision between a passenger bus and sand-laden truck has left two dead on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Brahmanbaria, police say.

Eight others have been injured in the incident, reported from Bijoynagar upazila’s Shoshoi area around 6:30am on Saturday (Jan 19).

“A Sylhet-bound London Express bus collided head-on with a sand-laden truck leaving two dead on the spot and injuring eight others,” said Brahmanbaria Khatihata Highway police OC Md Hossain Sarker.

One of the victims has been identified as Anwar Hossain, who was the driver of the bus, he said adding that the Identity of the other victim was not immediately available.

Bodies of the victims have been taken the Highway police station while the injured were sent for medical attention, said Sarker.
