Two people have been killed including a woman in two separate accidents in Laxmipur, said local state-run hospital Medical officer Dr Anowar Hossain.
The deceased are identified as Sumi Akhter and Shajahan.
The first incident was reported from the district’s Moju Chowdhury Hat early on Friday (Jan 18) when a truck hits a motorbike leaving two of its riders injured, said police.
Local people rescued the victims and sent to local state-run hospital where the doctor declared one of the victims, Sumi, dead.
The other incident took place near to Mandari Bazar on Laxmipur-Dhaka Highway early on Friday (Jan 18) when a roadside tree fell over Shahjahan, police said.
He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dhaka.
“No complaint has been filed over the incidents,” said Sadar police OC Lokman Hossain before adding, “We will take legal action if we get any.”
