Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury has asked all officials and employees of the ministry to submit their wealth reports within Feb 28.
The verbal directive by the minister came during an exchange with the media at the Chattogram Press Club on Saturday (Jan 12).
“Wealth statements from the top officials to the union-level employees will be taken to make the ministry corruption-free,” said Chowdhury before announcing the deadline on Feb 28.
He also said that a written directive will follow shortly.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has rewarded my honesty. She made me a minister and I intend to do justice to her confidence on me by stamping out corruption from the land ministry,” he said.
“I will turn this ministry among the top five through transparency and accountability,” added Chowdhury.
