Police has recovered the body of an unidentified woman in Narsingdi’s Shibpur Upazila.

The body was recovered on Saturday (Jan 12) morning, after locals spotted it and informed the police.

The deceased was around 35 years, said Shibpur police Sub Inspector Shaminul Alam.

“Locals spotted a body of a woman at a roadside plantation of banana trees, opposite to the Shibpur Haramain Millgate and informed police,” said Alam before adding that the body has been sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Alam also said that the body bears multiple injury marks on the head appearing to be caused by sharp weapons.

“We suspect that the woman may have been killed over old enmity,” he said.
