Customs officials detained a Biman passenger with a piece of gold weighing 4.256 kg from a flight at Shah Amanat International Airport on Sunday (Dec 16).
The detainee was Mohammad Shaokat Akbar, hailed from Fatckchari Upazila of the district.
Assistant Commissioner of Airport Customs Mahbubur Rahman said, “Shaokat reached the airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight BG-148m from Dubai at 10 am.”
Later, on secret information, the CIID officials recovered a big size gold bar from his bag.
A case was filed with concerned police.
