Local BNP leaders and members voiced their opposition in a media call on Saturday (Dec 8) after Amin was picked as the Oikya Front candidate to run for for Kurigram-2 constituencty with paddy sheaf.

Around 9pm on Saturday, they burned Amin’s effigy in after the press briefing, held at the local party office.

“AMSA Amin was never involved with BNP, rather he had been against BNP,” said Kurigram BNP leaders.

Demanding candidacy to be awarded to Sohel Hosnain Kaykobad, they also announced that they will not work for the Oikya Front candidate.

Kurigram unit BNP member and Kurigram sadar upazila BNP chief Abdul Aziz and Organizational Secretary Ashraful Haque Rubel, district Jubo Dal chief Raihan Kabir, General Secretary Nadim Ahmed and district Chattra Dal chief Aminul Ihsan was present in the media call among others.
