BNP’s Shah Moazzem’s car attacked in MunshiganjThe car carrying BNP Vice-Chairman Shah Moazzem Hossain has come under attack.
Shots were fired at his SUV around 5pm on Saturday (Dec 8) at Munsiganj’s Sirajdikhan Upazila, said witnesses.
Hossain, who is running on the BNP’s ticket from a Munsiganj seat, however, was unharmed, says his brother Omar Faruk.
Six people were injured, none of them shot, but the impact of the bullets shattered some of the windows of the cars.
Meanwhile, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police under the Sirajdikhan Circle Md Asaduzzaman said: “I heard about the incident, but have not been able to confirm it as of yet. I will disclose the details once I confirm it.”
Moazzem’s brother Omar Faruk also said: “Miscreants fired at our motorcade in the Kuchiamora area, but they only managed to damage five of the vehicles. They did not fire directly at Moazzem, and thankfully no one was shot despite the firing of seven bullets.”
