The Cabinet will have no technocrat members after Dec 9, says Road Transports Minister Obaidul Quader.
“Resignation letters of the technocrat minister are now at the Prime Minister’s Office and only the PM is authorized to expand and downsize the polls-time administration’s cabinet,” Quader said on Saturday (Dec 8).
Quader, who is the ruling Awami League’s (AL) general secretary, spoke to the reporters while campaigning for the 11th Parliamentary Election at Bataiya area of Noakhli’s Kabirhat Upazila.
Quader is AL’s pick for Noakhli-5 (Kabirhat-Companiganj) constituency in the Dec 30 election.
Referring to the attack on BNP headquarters, Quader blamed the party for trading nomination papers with its activists.
“No allegation over trading nomination forms against AL,” he said.
Calming BNP’s Moudud Ahmed violated the electoral code of conduct, Quader said, “He (Modud) staged a showdown while submitting his nomination form.”
Modud is BNP’s pick for the constituency in the upcoming polls.
