Awami League leader hacked to death in Naogaon

Md Isahaque HossainA group of assailants have killed a local leader of the Awami League in Naogaon’s Patnitala Upazila.
The ruling party’s Patnitala Upazila unit President 72-year-old Md Isahaque Hossain was ambushed in front of his home at Mahmudpur in Nazipur union around 9.45pm of Tuesday (Dec 4), said police.
Driver Dulal Roy was also injured in the attack.

“Md Isahaque Hossain returned from the party office and was knifed with four or five assailants just before he was entering his residence. After hearing the shout of Hossain, his driver Dulal Roy got off from the car to rescue him and Dulal Roy also was knifed by the assailants,” said Patnitala police OC Parimal Chandra.
“The victims were rushed to Patnitala Upazila Health Complex where Isahaque Hossain succumbed to his injuries,” OC Chandra added.
“The motive is not immediately clear. We are trying to identify and arrest the killers,” he added.
Dr Debashish Roy at the hospital said that Isahaque Hossain died before he was admitted to the hospital.
“Dulal Roy has been treated at the hospital,” the doctor added.
