A cotton factory and warehouse in Gazipur burned down completely as a fire broke out on Sunday (Nov 18) night.
Tongi Fire Service senior station officer said that the factory going by the name MS Fiber Processing produced cotton from scrap fabrics.
The fire broke out during the crushing process and spread throughout the factory to the warehouse and burned all the goods inside.
Although it’s not yet clear what the source of fire was, it’s being suspected that it was due to an electric short circuit or originated from the friction in the machines.
Four units of Fire Service men were able to put out the blaze within three hours. There have been no casualties.
