Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained 24 people trying to enter India illegally through the Patuakhali border on Monday (Nov 12).
“We got a tip-off that a number of people may try to cross the border to India,” said Patuakhali BGB 29 camp Commander Munshi Lablur Rahman.
He added that they led a raid at a field in the village where they detained 14 men, seven women, and three children.
The detainees have been handed over to Benapole port station but they have not found any trace of a trafficker.
