Miscreants have shot dead an activist of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanhati Samiti (PCJSS-MN Larma) in Rangamati, says police.

The incident was reported from Boradam village of the district around 1am Friday.

The victim has been identified as Baja Chakma.

Langadu Police OC Ranjan Kumar Samanto said, “Members of UPDF (regional political party of Chattogram hill tracts area) have been threatening Baja for the past few days. He had been staying at someone else’s residence fearing threat to his life.”

“However, around 1am a six-member team of UPDF came and killed him,” added Samanta.

He also said that the locals were able to identify three of the assassins.

They are – Pabitra Chakma, Subraj Chakma and Palash Chakma, all of them are members with the UPDF, said the OC.
