An unidentified drug-dealer was killed during a gunfight between rival groups in Kushtia’s Veramara upazila, police says.

The incident was reported around 2am on Monday.  

Veramara police OC Khandaker Shamim said, “A patrol team conducted a raid on information that a gunfight was in progress between rival drug-dealing groups. They fled the scene sensing presence of police.”

“One of the drug-peddlers were found bullet-hit and taken to Kushtia General Hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Monday morning,” added Shamim.

Police recovered one pistol, four rounds of bullet, two magazines and 310 pieces of yaba tablets from the scene.
