Three members of a family were killed and five others injured after a truck loaded with tiles flipped over on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail.
The incident was reported from Shubulla area of Mirzapur during early hours on Tuesday (Oct 16).
The deceased were identified as Niranjan Mali, 30, his wife Sagori Mali and their eight-year-old daughter Swarna.
The family hailed from Joypurhat district.
SI Motiur Rahman with the Gorai Highway Police said the accident took place when a Bogura-bound truck carrying eight people and a load of tiles flipped over and plunged into roadside pit leaving three dead on the spot.
The injured were admitted at the Kumudini Hospital of Mirzapur, added Rahman.
