Padma Bridge to help GDP grow by 2%: Quader

Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader speaks to media on Saturday (Oct 13).The Gross domestic product (GDP) will be increased by 1.5 percent to 2 percent after completion of the Padma Bridge, says Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader.
“Not only people of the region but also people of the entire country will be benefitted from the bridge,” Quader said on Saturday (Oct 13).
The ruling Awami League Secretary General was speaking to reporters at Kathalbari Ghat in Madaripur’s Shivchar Upazila.
Quader travelled to Madaripur to inspect the development of a party rally, to be attended by Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina on Sunday (Oct 14).
He said, “This is Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s own place. It is one of her beloved places. We will win from here in the polls.”
Railways Minister Mujibul Haque, AL Organizing Secretary lawmaker AFM Bahauddin Nasim, and local lawmaker Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury, among others, accompanied Quader.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inspect the construction sites of the Padma Bridge at Mawa in Mushiganj, Janzira in Shariatpur and Shibchar in Madaripur on Sunday to see for herself the progress of the mega project.
