‘Drug dealer’ killed in Natore ‘shootout’

ShootoutAction Battalion (RAB) in District’s Katashkol area of Boraigram Upazila on Sunday night.
The victim was identified as Sirajul Islam, 34, was wanted in four different cases, including that of drug, Company Commander of RAB-5 ASP Ajmol Hossain.
Tipped off that a gang of drug traders gathered in the area, a team of the elite force members conducted a drive there, he said.
When the RAB team asked them to surrender, the gang members tried to flee the scene firing gunshots on them which triggered a gun battle.
After a brief skirmish, the RAB team found Sirajul lying after being hit by bullets. He was then taken to the Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced him dead.
The RAB team recovered a foreign made pistol, firearms and 530 pieces of contraband Yaba pills from the spot.
