Two JMB operatives arrested in Rangpur, LalmonirhatThe Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two operatives of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in the northern districts of Rangpur and Lalmonirhat.
RAB raided Modern intersection of Tajhat area in Rangpur city on Saturday night and arrested Abu Salek Sayeduzzaman Babu alias Amir Hamja, RAB-13 commander Additional DIG Mozammel Haque told a media briefing at its Ranpur office on Sunday (Sept 16).
Amir Hamja, who hails from Rasulganj village of Lalmonirhat’s Patgram Upazila, was a chief coordinator of recruitment for the outfit.
RAB also seized a foreign-made pistol, two round bullet, a magazine, two mobile phones, three SIM cards and jihadist literature during the raid.
Another RAB team raided at a computer shop Lalmonirhat’s Patgram Upazila on same day and arrested JMB operative Talim Prdhan.
RAB also seize electronic devices, mobile phones, SIM cards and jihadist books and leaflets there.
Two separate cases were filled with Ranpur and Patgram police stations, said the RAB commander.
