Police in Chattogram have concluded the death schoolgirl Tasfia Amin’s as suicide.
On Sunday, the investigating officer filed the final report with the chief metropolitan magistrate’s court.
On May 2, locals at Patenga spotted a body on the banks of Karnaphuli River and reported to the police. Tasfia’s family indentified her body later in the day.
Tasfia was a ninth-grader student at Sunshine English Grammar School in the port city.
Her family told police that she went out with a male friend Adnan Mirza the previous afternoon before going missing.
The family started a murder case the next day against Mirza and five others.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of police’s prosecution wing Nirmalendu Bikash Chakraborty said that based on the autopsy and viscera reports as well as witnesses’ testimonies, it was concluded that the teenager killed herself.
