One person was killed in a road accident when a passenger minivan lost control and fell into river. The incident was reported from Gandhiashur of Gopalganj.
The victim was identified as Chitta Ranjan Das, 32, a resident of Pratappur village of Jashore district.
Ten other passengers were injured in the mishap, said Boultoli Police Camp Inspector Sajedur Rahman.
He said, “The pickup van was rented by thirteen workers of a shoe factory. They were going home from Chadpur. The van lost control at Gandhiashur Intersection of Gopalganj town and fell into Madhumati River.”
The injured were given first-aid treatment, added the inspector.
