A court in Jhenaidah has sentenced three people to death for the murder of an eleventh-grader.
On Oct 21, 2011, Imran Hossain was found dead at Shikarpur Village near the district town. The head was severed from the body.
The victim’s family started a case and the police pressed charges against four people.
On Sunday, the court convicted three people of the murder.
The death penalty was awarded to Imran Hossain, Nasim Biswas and Monirul Islam Mukul while defendant Zakir Hossain was acquitted of all charges.
Convict Nasim was tried as a fugitive to justice.
The court also slapped a fine of Tk 20,000 each on the convicts.
