Police escort three of the convicts to jail following the verdict.

A court in Natore has awarded the death penalty to five people in the murder of a man in the district’s Singhra Upazila 14 years ago.
On Feb 3, 2004, Abdul Kader Dudu, resident of Biash Village, was taken away from his home before being shot dead.
The victim’s family started a case and the police pressed charges against nine people.
Two suspects were dropped from the chargesheet as they died during the trial.
On Sunday, Natore’s additional district and sessions judge’s court found all seven of the defendants guilty.
It ordered death sentences for Hafizur Rahman, Bulu, Khalil, Majibur and Monir Hossain while two others Abdul Hakim and Nazrul Islam were given life in prison.
Convicts Hafizur, Majibur and Nazrul were on the docks when the verdict was announced while the others were tried as fugitives to justice, said Public Prosecutor Sirajul Islam.
